Testing a theory

I have a theory that I'd like anyone who reads this to help me out with.  Basically, what I need is to hear your interview stories, whether those interviews led to being hired or not.  I guess what I am most interested in is whether you walked out of the interview believing you would be hired and why you believed that.  It might also be helpful to know the type of job and industry, although I don't need to know specifically what company it is.  Keep responses as anonymous as you like.  Thanks in advance for your help!

Since 2001, most interviews I felt really good about, good communication between the interviewer and myself as we'll as feeling I had provided good answers, resulted in no job offer, rarely a 2nd call and almost never a communication that someone else had been selected for the position.

Every job offer I have received was from a company who needed a replacement person immediately.

  2. Strangely, or perhaps not so strangely, my own experience has been similar to Anonymous' experience. The main difference is that I have been told that someone else had been hired, but I've always lost out to someone who they felt was a "better fit," whatever that means.
